  • Identify site isolation and traffic control responsibilities and authorities
  • Use civil construction terminology
  • Apply basic principles of soil technology and soil compaction
  • Use basic earthworks calculations
  • Use methods for calculating safe working loads
  • Apply operational, maintenance and basic diagnostics
  • Completing housekeeping activities.

  • Apply levelling techniques
  • Select and use required tools and equipment
  • Work safe safely around other machines and personnel
  • Park and secure equipment safely
  • Apply methods for changing machine attachments
  • Work effectively with others to undertake and complete excavator operations.
