At the successful completion of this course you will be able to:
- Determining the work requirements
- Interpreting design and/or plan for construction
- Preparing assembly area
- Checking delivered materials for compliance with design
- Checking dimensions, geometry and condition of sleepers
- Assembling points and crossings
- Fabricating structure in accordance with design specification
- Selecting bearers for correct length, placing on assembly area and marking up
- Adjusting remaining steelwork for correct geometry and attach to bearers for timber or composite
- Preparing points and crossings for transport
- Completing documentation relating to constructing points and crossings.
