Operate Minor Mechanical Equipment
The units of competency covered in this course are:
- TLIB2092 Operate Minor Mechanical Equipment
- TLIB2001 Check and Assess Operational Capabilities of Equipment
At the successful completion of this course you will be able to:
- Identify the different pieces of equipment and understand what they do
- Conduct pre-operation checks to manufacturers specifications
- Make necessary adjustments to equipment to ensure efficient operation of equipment
- Report of faulty equipment
- Operate minor mechanical equipment in accordance with manufacturers or workplace operating instructions
- Use appropriate PPE while operating equipment
- Eliminate or control operational hazards when using equipment
- Give clear instructions to assisting personnel if required
- Clean and maintain equipment in accordance with manufacturers specifications
- Maintain records in accordance with workplace procedures
- Handle transport and storage of equipment to minimise the risk of injury to personnel or damage to equipment.
Competency in a minimum of three of the following machines will be required to be able to obtain the unit of competency:
- Dog Puller and/or Dog Knocker
- Sleeper Borer
- Rail Mounted Trolley Frame
- Rail Saw
- Rail Drill
- Rattle Gun and Impact Wrench
- Wood Borer
- E Clipper
- Fast Clipper
