At the successful completion of this course you will be able to:
- Communicate effectively with others when responding to an incident or an breakdown
- Read and interpret instructions, procedures and information relevant to a response to an incident
- Interpret and follow operational instructions and prioritise work
- Negotiate and resolve issues when responding to an incident or emergency
- Complete documentation related to a response to an incident or emergency
- Apply precautions and required action to minimise, control or eliminate hazards that may exist when responding to an incident or an emergency
- Identify, select and use the required PPE equipment in relation to an incident or an emergency
- Identify the causes and effects of breakdown/emergency situations
- Understand the types of breakdowns and emergencies than can occur when driving a vehicle and the appropriate action that can be taken
- Understand the Duty of Care requirements when attending a breakdown and/or emergency situation
- Understand the risks and hazards that can exist in breakdown/emergency situation and related precautions to control the risks
- Identify the characteristics of various dangerous goods, explosives, hazardous substances and their implications in breakdown emergency situations.
