At the successful completion of this course you will be able to:

• Causes of stress-induced defects
• Anchoring points to enable rail stressing to be performed in accordance with workplace procedures
• Appropriate stressing methods and resources
• Rail/weight dimensions measurements and checking to ensure compliance with relevant standards
• Calculating the measurements from relevant data to ensure stressing is conducted with specifications
• Releasing fastening and anchor points as necessary to allow stressing to occur
• Adjusting the rail length using appropriate method to achieve desired rail stress
• Finishing joint to required standard using appropriate method in accordance with workplace procedures
• Ensuring documentation is completed in accordance with workplace procedures
