At the successful completion of this course you will be able to:
- Determine the components and where applicable, individual work stations of a tamping machine
- Understand the purpose and associated risks of components and work stations
- Identify the basic functions of the Tamping Machine in relation to constructing and maintaining the track to the required track geometry
- Identify hazards and risks associated with tamping machine operations
- Understand ballast profile standards and basic track geometry and terminology.
