At the successful completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand what is required to enter and work in the rail reserve
  • Understand the safety precautions and requirements of working in the rail reserve
  • Understand the requirements of working with Light Self-propelled equipment on track including:
    • Precautions
    • Hazards
    • Inspections
    • Servicing
    • Re-fuelling
    • Lubricating
    • Safety devices
  • Know the safety precautions and restrictions required to operate Light self-propelled equipment on-track including:
    • Traveling
    • Operating, boarding/leaving
    • Braking
    • Reverse travel
    • Attached trolleys
    • Turning
    • Restricted access areas
    • Hydraulic hoses
    • Towing
    • Emergency removal from track.

  

Course Outcome

On successful completion of this course you will  be awarded a statement of attainment for TLIC2059 Propel and Operate Light On-Track Equipment

Current category 1 – rail medical (NCOP compliant)
