At the successful completion of this course you will be able to:
- Understand what is required to enter and work in the rail reserve
- Understand the safety precautions and requirements of working in the rail reserve
- Understand the requirements of working with Light Self-propelled equipment on track including:
- Precautions
- Hazards
- Inspections
- Servicing
- Re-fuelling
- Lubricating
- Safety devices
- Know the safety precautions and restrictions required to operate Light self-propelled equipment on-track including:
- Traveling
- Operating, boarding/leaving
- Braking
- Reverse travel
- Attached trolleys
- Turning
- Restricted access areas
- Hydraulic hoses
- Towing
- Emergency removal from track.
