Self-Propelled On Track Equipment
The units of competency covered in this course is:
- TLIC0010 Propel and Operate Light On-Track Equipment
- TLIC2058 Travel Medium or Heavy Self-Propelled On-Track Equipment
This course covers both over and under 10 tonne self-propelled equipment in combined delivery. This is a good option for people who have a requirement to operate both light and heavy on track plant.
At the successful completion of this course you will be able to:
- Understand what is required to enter and work in the rail reserve/corridor
- Understand the safety precautions and requirements of working in the rail reserve/corridor
- Identify the requirements of working with self-propelled equipment on track including:
- Precautions
- Hazards
- Inspections
- Pre and Post operational checks
- Servicing
- Re-fuelling
- Lubricating
- Safety devices
- Know the safety precautions and restrictions required to operate on track-self-propelled equipment including:
- Off track or stable equipment
- Obtain approval to place equipment on track
- Traveling
- Operating, boarding/leaving
- Braking
- Reverse travel
- Attached trolleys
- Turning
- Restricted access areas
- Hydraulic hoses
- Towing
- Emergency removal from track.
